# requiredVersion

*Command · System · Arma 3 v0.50 · introduced in Operation Flashpoint v1.21*

## Description

Check if version of application is available. If the current version is older than the required one, a warning message is shown and [false](../commands/false.md) is returned.

Version of format **Major.Minor**, e.g. **1.30**

## Syntax

```sqf
requiredVersion version
```

**Parameters:**

- `version`: [String](../topics/String.md)

**Returns:** [Boolean](../topics/Boolean.md)

## Examples

### Example 1

```sqf
if !(requiredVersion "1.09") exitWith {};
```

## Community notes

**Kronzky** — 2008-03-12

If the script contains a command that was introduced *after* the required version, it will still generate a syntax error, even if this test is done at the top of the script (as the whole script is parsed before execution).
