# displayCtrl

## Description

Return child control with specified idc.

## Syntax

### Syntax 1

```sqf
display displayCtrl idc
```

**Parameters:**

- `display`: [Display](../topics/Display.md)
- `idc`: [Number](../topics/Number.md)

**Returns:** [Control](../topics/Control.md)

### Syntax 2

*since arma3 2.06*

```sqf
displayCtrl idc
```

**Parameters:**

## Examples

### Example 1

```sqf
_displayControl = _ParentDisplay displayCtrl 101;
```

## Community notes

**Demellion** — 2017-05-01

Since **Arma 3 1.42** you can also return a control inside a controls group using [controlsGroupCtrl](../commands/controlsGroupCtrl.md) (created with [ctrlCreate](../commands/ctrlCreate.md) or inside a controls[] of a control config). Example:

```sqf
((uiNamespace getVariable "RscUnitInfo") displayCtrl 2303) controlsGroupCtrl 154; // Display -> Controls Group -> Control
```

Note that control inside controls group having **-1 IDC** currently cannot be returned in any way.
